Eagle View Group’s winter outing, Saturday, February 4, 1 pm.
Our winter outing at Lost Grove Lake is a good reason to get off the couch and enjoy an Iowa winter afternoon in the great outdoors. If the weather is right, bring your snow shoes or cross country skis and if you don’t have either, just pull on your boots and do some winter hiking with jolly companions. In midwinter this place is unusually quiet and gliding on skis across the lake is wonderful. We might see some ice fishermen but otherwise at this time of the year it isn’t crowded.
Now for the details: We will meet at the lock 14 parking lot in Pleasant Valley to car pool to Lost Grove Lake. Lock 14 is one half mile upstream from the BP gas station in Pleasant Valley, on Hwy 67. If you don’t car pool or come from a different direction, take county road Z30 (aka Wells Ferry Road) north about 6 miles. Watch for county road F45 and turn left. Continue west on F45 about a mile and turn right (north) on 230th Avenue. You will come to a stop sign and see the parking lot on you right. You are there.
Be prompt. If the weather and roads are BAD we will cancel so call me. Jerry Neff 563 508 2513
