Xstream Cleanup: Changes up and EVG Joins up!

EVG Mississippi River Cleanup is June 18, 2016

by Kristen Bergren

After 12 years, Xstream Cleanup, the one day community event where volunteers picked up trash by our waterways and removed invasive species, now has a bigger mission! It is providing more ways for everyone to make a difference! A variety of events held throughout the year are replacing the annual, large-scale cleanup held in August.

Now you can “team up to clean up” year-round and you can start with Eagle View Group’s annual Mississippi River Clean-up!  Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm to help clean up a section of Ben Butterworth Parkway in Moline. Most of the cleanup is light duty though there are some areas that are a little more difficult. We will meet at the parking lot west of the Captain’s Table’s (4801 River Dr, Moline) parking lot. Look for the Eagle View Group, Sierra Club sign. Bags, gloves and grabbers will be provided.

To help us determine quantity of supplies needed and to receive an Xstream Cleanup t-shirt, please register at the link below.  If you would like to receive a t-shirt, you must register by Saturday, June 4. General registration will continue through June 16.
